About Katherine Young-Beck
Katherine grew up in La Habra, Orange County, California. She met the dream of her life and married him in 1989. Together they raised, now, two grown children and are now grandparents.
She finished her art education, which was started years ago, with her graduation at Bakersfield College in 2007 with an AA in Art.
Many different forms of Art have always been part of her life. However, she prefers painting in acrylics and watercolor. For several years, she was an employed artist who hand painted pictures on needlepoint canvas for unique tapestries. She was also privileged to learn the art of China Painting from her fraternal grandmother, who carries the artistic De Forest family bloodline.
Katherine started painting in her early youth and has never stopped. Her favorite subjects are nature related, often portraying endangered species. She always strives to represent the true details in the flora and or fauna that she paints, by utilizing her Master Gardener education and a vast library of references, to create believable settings for her paintings.
No matter what medium or subject matter Katherine chooses, she always finds herself committed to the details within the painting and the need to portray God’s intricate masterful creations.
